When Houston Heights was founded in the late 1800s, it was a streetcar suburb of Houston, attracting people who did not wish to live in the dense city. Today, the neighborhood has maintained its historical charm while becoming a hub for independent local shops and restaurants. Residents enjoy a small town feel in the middle of our bustling city with easy access to several major highways.

THE HEIGHTS:

A charming sense of community in the heart of a big city.

The Heights is situated inside the northwest corner of the inner loop of Houston. Since it’s bordered by 610 to the north, the Gulf Freeway to the east and the Katy Freeway to the south, residents don’t have to choose between the area’s charming sense of community and small town feel or a manageable commute into the city’s heart. Here they enjoy both.

Take a stroll down the tree-canopied esplanades and side streets dotted with homes dating from the early 1900s and you may think you've landed in a small town. Don't be fooled, many of these historic homes have been updated to feature all of the modern luxuries one could desire.

THE MARKET:

While you might find larger lot sizes further out from the center of Houston, you will save a lot of time and headache maintaining oversized yards. The housing market in The Heights is more varied than ever while still maintaining its historic charm. You will find iconic bungalow style homes, patio homes, and New Orleans style homes throughout the majority of the neighborhood, but there are plenty of townhome and condo options available these days as well.
